Belfast Zoo is taking part in the Northern Ireland Science Festival 2025 with an educational workshop.
Explore the application of science in zoo management for optimal animal care. This workshop will focus on animal extinction. There are so many wildlife species that are seeing the real possibility of extinction in the not-too-distant future. Many of our species are highly endangered, but in we are focussing on primates for this year’s NI Science Festival.
In this year’s interactive workshop, we will be:
- exploring the threats and dangers that apes, monkeys, and lemurs face;
- looking at primate conservation projects around the world;
- finding out what Belfast Zoo is doing for primate conservation; and
- doing some enrichment for apes.
The workshop is on Saturday 22 February from 10am to 12 noon.
The workshop is open to children aged 10 years old and over (children must be accompanied by an adult). The workshop price is £25. There are limited places available on a first-come, first-served basis. For workshop information or to book your place, call 028 9077 6277 or email [email protected].
