A Co. Antrim woman has been sentenced at Belfast Magistrates Court today, Tuesday 10 December 2024, following her guilty plea to an offence involving a dog attack.

Belfast City Council took the prosecution against Angela Hollywood of Loughview Road, Aldergrove.

The prosecution was taken after reports that Ms Hollywood’s Old English Sheepdog had attacked and injured a 5-year-old girl causing injuries to her face, shoulder and chest area, at playing fields in the Stormont Estate last September.

Ms Hollywood received a conditional discharge for a period of two years and ordered to pay legal costs of £135.

The court also made an order directing the dog be destroyed if Ms Hollywood does not take the required measures to prevent it being a danger to the public.
