Does your tourism business want to give d/Deaf a warm welcome?

This short, practical masterclass will help you communicate more confidently with visitors who have hearing loss or are d/Deaf.

The masterclass will be led by Anthony Sinclair, founder of Sign Source, where he teaches British Sign Language (BSL) and regularly talks about diversity, education, inclusion, leadership and mental health.

As a profoundly deaf person born into a family dissuaded to use BSL, he considers it not just a job, but a vocation to do all he can to improve accessibility for deaf people.

You will also hear from the Crumlin Road Gaol about how it has developed access for people who are d/Deaf through a BSL video guide.

This masterclass is delivered by Open Arts in partnership with Sign Source for Belfast City Council and the inclusive tourism working group.

You can find more information on getting to and getting around the Crumlin Road Gaol in its access guide (link opens in new window).

Spaces are limited, so please book your place by Tuesday 21 January. You can book online through Eventbrite (link opens in new window) or by calling 028 9024 0765.

You should confirm any access or dietary requirements when you book your place.
