Bank of Ideas - South Belfast

The Bank of Ideas is a new initiative by Belfast 2024 that enables the people of Belfast to propose and collectively decide on creative projects for our city.

93 ideas were presented to the public at our Voting Day in City Hall, at a buzzing market stall of creative ideas!

Every idea was fantastic and gained new supporters across the city.

After a grand total of 2,253 votes across the city, here are the ideas that received the most votes and the funding for South Belfast with a total pot of £10,000:

Black Moon - Pop-up Picnic Party

August 2024

A music filled, fun afternoon of creative community that is disabled lead, for all the family. Black Moon DJ will bring the music to get you dancing, with games and prizes. We invite you to join us and bring a picnic. Disability culture in action!

Community Garden Open Day

An alleyway garden open day open to anyone near the Ormeau road, with a barbecue, wildflower mural creation and a travelling bike propelled art gallery!

The Climate Craic Festival is an inclusive event in Belfast that uses creative arts to engage the community with climate action, promoting sustainability and fostering strong community connections through workshops, performances, and interactive activities.

Ballynafest Community Fair 2024

Saturday 7th September 2024

Ballynafest will be a family-friendly three hour event showcasing local musical talent, with circus performances, story telling, community singing and family picnics where neighbours can meet and friendships can be forged at the heart of the community in Ormeau Park.
