Bank of Ideas - East Belfast

The Bank of Ideas is a new initiative by Belfast 2024 that enables the people of Belfast to propose and collectively decide on creative projects for our city.

93 ideas were presented to the public at our Voting Day in City Hall, at a buzzing market stall of creative ideas!

Every idea was fantastic and gained new supporters across the city.

After a grand total of 2,253 votes across the city, here are the ideas that received the most votes and the funding for East Belfast with a total pot of £10,000:

A colourful, creative celebration of the many diverse cultures that exist on the Cregagh and Woodstock Road using dance, music, storytelling, visual art, food, and fun to bring people together.

Late Night Art for East Belfast! Creating a map of East Belfast arts locations for open gallery events on the first Thursday of the month, with a guided tour, talks and a shuttle bus.

A swap shop for children to swap and reuse clothing, toys and other items, on the Newtownards Road with toy hospital, childrens’ makers space, embroidery station, rag mural and a clothes mender.

Beginner workshops to teach embroidery stitches which can be used in mending or upcycling clothes/fabrics, empowering people and connecting them together.
