Belfast's Remarkable Women

Date: Wednesday 5 March at 1pm

Venue: Belfast City Hall

""

As part of International Women's Day, we have teamed up with Clifton House to deliver a special talk on 'Belfast's Remarkable Women'.

Come along and hear stories about Mary Ann McCracken, who fought for the rights of the poor, and of those women she helped and supported within the Poor House.

This talk will also look at how women engaged with politics at a time when their voices were being deliberately silenced, and how they overcame class barriers in order to achieve small victories. It will also explore the legacy of these women in the 20th and 21st centuries and how Belfast can better remember them and their activism.

This event is free, but you need to book a ticket. To book, go to Visit Belfast (link opens in new window)
