Our Summer Community Diversionary Programme (SCDP) 2025-2027 is open for applications. This programme provides funding to eligible community-based groups working to support young people and communities during July and August in Belfast. The programme aims to make a significant contribution to the reduction of anti-social behaviour linked to key areas, bonfires and dates during the summer, specifically 11 July and 8 August.
Summer Community Diversionary Programme Funding
The Summer Community Diversionary Programme provides support for the delivery of community-based diversionary programmes. The programme is now being delivered as a multi-annual funding model between 2025-2027. Grants between £25,000 and £100,000 are available to eligible groups.
Applications that are assessed in 2025 and reach the threshold for support will be awarded an equivalent level of funding for the delivery of a similar community diversionary programme in 2026 and 2027.

Eligibility criteria for Summer Community Diversionary Programme
All funded activity will make a significant contribution to the reduction of anti-social behaviour linked to key areas, bonfires and dates during the summer, specifically 11 July and 8 August. It is anticipated that programme activities will have a significant impact on addressing issues linked to 11 July 2025 and 8 August 2025. Groups will have a 14-day window before and a seven-day window after those dates to deliver activities.
For the funding programme, we will use these criteria:
- applications are open to constituted community and voluntary organisations based in the Belfast City Council area.
- the total funding available is £500,000 per annum in July and August. A minimum of £25,000 and a maximum of £100,000 is available for successful applicants.
- only applications which score above the eligibility threshold can be considered for funding. Applications which do not make the threshold cannot be considered for funding.
- if successful applicants fail to submit all paperwork and receipts for vouching purposes by the date given by our team, then they are automatically ineligible for future programmes.
There will be an independent evaluation of all events that receive funding.
