Belfast Botanic Gardens
You can take any Metro no. 8 and get off at Queen's University. You can also take Metro no.7 and get off at College Park.
You can enter Botanic Gardens at Botanic Avenue, Stranmillis Embankment and University Road. The Tropical Ravine is nearest to the University Road entrance.
By coach or minibus
There are no parking spaces within the Belfast Botanic Gardens. Your coach can drop off and pick up along Stranmillis Road.
Please note that there are parking restrictions in the immediate vicinity of the Gardens. Belfast City Council will not accept responsibility for any parking tickets incurred by groups.
If your group has mobility requirements, please advise us when booking to facilitate your needs.
Botanic Gardens contains assorted tropical plants, giant bird feeders, a rose garden, an alpine garden, mature trees, flower beds and sculptures.
We welcome breastfeeding in the Tropical Ravine.
Free WiFi is available at the Tropical Ravine.
Wheelchair and mobility
The Tropical Ravine is accessible to wheelchair users within the spaces used for a full educational visit, including the Tropical Zone and the Ravine walkway. There is lift access to the exhibition on the Ravine walkway, but some doors are not automatic.
There is an accessible toilet in the Tropical Ravine building. There are also public toilets in the Gardens which have an accessible toilet.
The Tropical Ravine has an induction loop system. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information prior to your visit.
Tropical Ravine Lower Access
Access to the ground floor of the Tropical Ravine is limited and available through booking of tours and certain activities in the Tropical Ravine Programme.

A free guided tour that will incorporate the history and heritage of the Botanic Gardens and Tropical Ravine is available on the following days:
Tuesday: 2pm – 3pm
Wednesday: 11am – 12 noon
Thursday: 2pm – 3pm
Visitors can only access the lower level of the Tropical Zone during these tours.
Booking is essential and spaces are limited to groups of 20 people.

Please note that due to demand there may be a waiting list to book.
Victorian Vignette tours
Due to the popularity of our new Victorian Vignette tours in the Palm House and Tropical Ravine further tours will take place from 22 September on a Saturday and a Sunday. Tours will take place weekly at the following times:
Saturday 10.30am – 11.30am
Sunday 1.30pm – 2.30pm
Please make all bookings for weekend tours by 2pm on Friday afternoon in order to avoid disappointment. Email firstname.lastname@example.org.
