Flowers at the Frontline – a talk with Frances Green
Date: 13 Jun 2018
Time: 12.30pm - 1.30pm
Venue: Ulster Museum, Belfast Room
In recounting how a young woman from Belfast came to be doing the flowers at the frontline of the Second World War, ‘Flowers at the Frontline’ considers the role of women and the part both they and fresh flowers played in boosting morale at home and overseas. Following her journey across both sides of the Irish border, and on to North Africa and Italy, it shines light on little known aspects of social history - and flower arranging!
