Chinese New Year 2014: Year of the Horse

Date: 2 Feb 2014
Time: 12pm - 2pm and 3pm - 5pm
Venue: Belfast City Hall

Happy Chinese New Year! Gong Xei Fa Choi ( 恭喜發財 )!

Gallop into the Chinese new year (the Year of the Horse) at Belfast City Hall and celebrate Belfast’s sister city relationship with Hefei at a family friendly event hosted by the Chinese Welfare Association.

There’ll be two shows, one from 12 noon to 2pm and another from 3pm to 5pm, each with space for 400 spectators. Enjoy Chinese and local performances, including dance, acrobatics, martial arts, beautifully colourful lion dances, or take part in workshops and sample Chinese food. There's also a Year of the Horse Chinese traditional dress competition for children.

To book tickets for the shows, please contact the Chinese Welfare Association, the Chinese Resource Centre (028 9028 8277) or the local Chinese supermarkets.

Other Chinese New Year events across Northern Ireland will take place from 31 January to 15 February 2013.
