Social in the city
Date: 31 May 2019
Time: 12 noon-2pm (light lunch provided)
Venue: Catalyst Belfast Fintech Hub
WorkWest is proud to host the final event of our three year Go Social programme celebrating Belfast’s Social Enterprise and Cooperative sector.
Come along and hear about the 'Go Social' experience from two local social enterprises USEL and Angel Eyes NI. And Alan Mahon will be sharing the Brewgooder journey as the world's first clean water beer.
More about guest speakers:
- Alan Moher, Brewgooder Founder - “What makes us unusual is that we are on a bit of a mission- there’s a purpose behind us selling beer, other than to just bring people really good beer, and that’s to unlock clean water for a million people.”
- Usel – Usel is a multi-award winning social enterprise that has experienced incremental growth in the last 5 years through five social enterprises including a new recycling centre employing 50 people. Supporting 1200 people with disabilities each year, they are now a leading and innovative driver of the circular economy in NI creating social value of £15 for every £1 invested.
- Angel Eyes NI – a local charity that supports parents who have visually impaired children. The organisation continues to innovate and recently developed a new VR app ‘Sight Loss Virtual Reality Application’ for mobile devices which will help parents and professionals better understand the challenges partial sight brings.
