#LiveLouder competition final
In February 2014, we invited young musicians aged 13 to 18 and living in Belfast to compete for a chance to perform at a special free gig on 28 March at the Oh Yeah Centre, Cathedral Quarter, with a headline performance from Conor Scott from The Voice.
After a rigorous shortlisting process by members of our Youth Forum and Oh Yeah Music Centre staff, eight acts were selected to take part in the live gig:
- The Left Backs
- Karis Fitch
- Georgia Moore
- Declan McGoran
- Mop and The Pram
- Cora Kelly
- Cherelle Duffin
- Ashfield Boys
They played to win £1,000 of time in a recording studio and mentoring from industry professionals. And after an audience vote, The Left Backs were announced the victors.
What's Belfast like for young people?
We want to find out your views about being a young person living in Belfast and what you think Belfast should look like in the future. It will only take a few minutes to complete it.
We also asked 11 to 18 year olds living in Belfast if they’d like an opportunity to use their creativity to make a difference and, if they were brave enough, to enter the Digi-Dragons’ Den!
Our judging panel invited six teams to present their digital solution (such as an app, social media campaign, web page or video to help young people take care of their mental health and wellbeing or the environment) to the Digi-Dragons at Belfast City Hall on Monday 31 March.

After fierce competition, Perrie MacKeever of Victoria College (16 years old) was announced winner of the Mental Health solutions category. She’ll receive £1,000 of support to help her develop an app which helps young people track their moods, and wakes them up each day with an inspirational quote, motivational tip, or an idea for how to help someone that day.
And Cillian McGivern, Brian Harmon and Conor Dodds (ages 16 and 17) will receive £1,000 of support to help them develop their Environmental Game, encouraging players to save global landmarks from being destroyed by waste.
