Hospitality Employment Academy
The Hospitality Employment Academy is a new training programme designed in partnership with the NI Hotels Federation, Invest NI, Tourism NI, the Departments for Communities and Economy, as well as hospitality employers from across Belfast, to help them recruit new staff for over 200 jobs.
The academy will cover training for a range of part-time and full-time vacancies including food service, bar staff, catering, hotel housekeeping and portering.
Before applying you will get the opportunity to speak with employers, through job insights sessions and site visits, to gain an understanding of what the jobs entail and the terms and conditions of employment.
After applying, participants will take part in a two-week training programme to give them the skills needed to begin a career in hospitality.
The programme will also provide sector specific employability skills including:
- Customer service
- Food hygiene
- Health and safety
- Cash handling
- First aid at work
- Knowledge of Belfast tourism products
- Application form and CV writing
- Interview skills.
Every participant that completes the employment academy is guaranteed a job interview for a role that best suits their circumstances.
The Hospitality Employment Academy is open to anyone living in the Belfast City Council area currently out of work or working less than 16 hours a week. This includes people who are on a current European Social Funded programme.
