Notice to quit period for private tenants

From 5 May 2020 the notice to quit period is extended to twelve weeks for private tenants. For more information, go to COVID-19 guidance for Private Rented Sector landlords and tenants.

The guidance covers a range of issues including advice on paying rent, access for emergency repairs, extended timescales for issuing tenants notice to quit, and advice on moving home and property viewings as lockdown measures are eased.
