We’re a major funder of advice providers across Belfast, which provide free, confidential and independent advice on a range of issues including benefits, consumer, debt, employment and housing issues.
Belfast Citywide Tribunal Service represents clients who wish to appeal Social Security Agency (SSA) decisions on benefits, including Employment Support Allowance, Disability Living Allowance, Personal Independent Payment and Universal Credit. It enables clients to challenge decisions, assisting them through the process and representing them in both an Appeal and Tribunal setting.
You can access this service from any of the advice centres that we fund, by emailing [email protected], calling 028 9039 1765 or visit us at:

We are a designation Council of Sanctuary, committed to receiving and including all new residents with care and dignity.
We provide a number of projects to support the inclusion of people from minority ethnic community backgrounds in Belfast. This includes funding orientation programmes for people that are new to Belfast as well as funding case work support. Through our good relations grant aid programme we also provide financial support for projects to build connections between new and older communities.
We currently chair the Belfast Migrant Forum that supports ports networking and communication between organisations that work with minority ethnic communities.
We have produced a Refugee Transition Guide, that provides key information to people who have recently received refugee status.
Request the guide by emailing [email protected] or calling 028 9027 0663.
In November 2022, we published research findings on inequalities experienced by Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic and Traveller people residing in Belfast.
Commissioned in partnership with Belfast Trust and the Public Health Agency (PHA), the research provides a more comprehensive understanding of the range of experiences of minority ethnic and migrant populations in Belfast to inform policy making and service provision in the city. Recommended next steps, to help address the issues identified, are also included.
