Register a food business privacy notice

Belfast City Council (BCC) is a joint-controller, as defined by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), with the Food Standards Agency (FSA) for the personal data that is gathered within this form. This information is processed, by both bodies, on the lawful basis of performing a public task under Regulation EC No 852/2004. The information will be used for the purposes of managing and administering the registration of a food business establishment and maintaining a Food Business Service Register. The information provided on this form will be transferred to the FSA, and automatically also sent to both you and the Council by way of an email notification.

BCC will not share this information with any other party, without your consent, unless there is a lawful requirement to do so or there is a need to do so for the purposes of ensuring the safety and standards of food and the public. Personal data may, however, be shared internally with Council staff who are involved in providing this service and, where necessary, between internal departments for the purpose of supporting an effective delivery of service. All personal data will be held and stored by the Council in compliance with data protection legislation and in line with its Retention and Disposal Schedule.
