On the ‘bear’ trail for Parenting NI

Belfast Lord Mayor, Councillor McAllister, is urging visitors to Waterworks Park to ‘hunt bears’ and raise money for one of her charities – Parenting NI
The bear hunt is part of a Nature Frenzy Fun Day that will include family friendly activities such as face painting, balloon modelling, craft stalls, and entertainers, taking place on Saturday 12 May from 1pm-4pm.
“I am encouraging everyone to come along to the fun day to support Parenting NI there are lots of activities for all the family to enjoy and the Waterworks Park is a really beautiful location for the event to take place,” said the Lord Mayor.
“The Bear hunt allows young people to bring along their teddy bears, encourages them to take an interest in nature with a nature and enjoy a range of activities.
“Every parent/guardian knows raising children can be stressful and hard work but Parenting NI does a brilliant job in providing support services that are accessible to everyone, whether a new parent or those with older children.
“The fun day is a good way to show support while enjoying the delights of the park and other entertainment. I hope to see many people there on the day,” added the Lord Mayor
Parenting NI spokesperson said they are delighted to be involved in the day and that any funds raised will go to support the range of services they provide.

“Funds raised at the event will go back into Parenting NI services, supporting parents with issues such as relationship breakdown, children’s challenging behaviour and mental health. Parenting NI would like to thank the Lord Mayor for her ongoing support of the charity.”
